Biography:
Danny joins the Bluefish for his seventh season of professional baseball and first in the Atlantic League. In 2009, the slugger split time between the Oakland Athletics and San Diego Padres organizations. In 589 combined at-bats with four separate teams, he batted .255 with 29 doubles, 21 home runs and 99 RBI.
The California-native has made one stop at the Major League level as a member of the Oakland Athletics in 2007. In 11 games, he recorded six hits, including one home run in 28 at-bats. The 27-year-old posted his best season as a professional in 2005 with Stockton (A, Athletics) of the California League. He batted .307 with 15 home runs and posted careers-highs with 37 doubles and 100 RBI. In 597 career minor league games, Putnam has connected on 75 homers and drove in 378 runs.
Danny was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the first round (36th overall) in the 2004 amateur draft. |
