Biography:
Denny will make his Atlantic League debut with the Bluefish during his 13th year of professional baseball. The 35-year-old appeared in the Major Leagues last season as a member of the Seattle Mariners, playing in nine games for the team that originally drafted him.
The Ohio-native was selected by the Mariners in the fourth round of the 1996 amateur draft. The righthander put together four successful seasons in the minors before getting his first call the ‘The Show’ with Seattle in 1999. After a brief stint in Connecticut, with Double-A New Haven, he reemerged with the Mariners in 2001. The following season, Stark was traded to the Colorado Rockies with pitchers Jose Paniagua and Brian Fuentes in exchange for Jeff Cirillo. He would make three more appearances in the big leagues with the Rockies before returning to the Mariners organization in 2008.
In 73 career Major League appearances (42 starts), Denny has recorded 15 victories, including an 11-win season with Colorado in 2002. |
